My Shower waste is not draining quickly enough?
You shower drain manufacturer will potentially ask you to contact us to confirm the flow rate output of your products. The flow is determined by the thermostat not the rose itself. You can find the flow rates on our product spec sheets that list the lpm per bar output. The standard output of a home in the UK is 3-4 Bar. The pressure output can vary to each shower depending on what floor it is installed on. Pressure is lost at a rate of 0.1 bar per metre of elevation. So if you use this calculation your can work out the output of your shower.
If your shower is draining slowly you have several options. Firstly check that there is no debris in the shower drain from any building works as a shower drain should be capable of draining 40 lpm. If not then ….
install a pressure valve after the pump in the basement to limit the pressure to a suitable flow
install a flow restrictor between the shower arm and the shower rose to limit the flow
Install an adjustable stop valve somewhere in the pipework before the thermostat in order to adjust the maximum flow
The other option (I realise it is stating the obvious) is to simply not turn the shower on fully.
How do I replace a mono mixer handle?
This process is applicable to the following products:
02- Wall Mounted Mono Mixer
20- Wall Mounted Two Hole Mixer
201- Wall Mounted Two Hole Mixer with Backplate
22-Deck Mounted Mono Mixer
23- Deck Mounted Mono Kitchen Mixer
35- Shower Mono Mixer
You will need to unscrew the grub screw located on the handle. Once this has been loosened you can pull then handle off- you need to pull the handle away from the tap. These can be rather tight and may require some force. You will need to unscrew the curved cover that sits over the cartridge- this simply unscrews. Underneath this is located a large nut which holds the cartridge in place. You will need an adjustable to undo this. Remove the cartridge and replace with the new one being sure to align the two plastic pins in the body. Refit the nut and tighten with the spanner. Then replace the handle ensuring it sits in the right location for operation. and retighten the grub screw.
My Thermostat output is pulsing?
This could be an issue with low pressure or a large differential pressure between hot and cold. It is recommended that the hot and cold water pressure are similar at entry into the thermostat. e.g. if you have 2.0 bar hot water pressure the cold water pressure should be 1.5 to 2.5 bar (or vice versa) Pulsing can be caused by uneven pressures (i.e. 1 bar hot to 4 bar cold). You should consult your plumber who will be able to confirm the hot and cold water pressures. This could also be an issue if you have very low pressure (under 1 bar) and will cause the nonreturnable valves in the thermostat to spring shut.
